Whenever anybody attempts to take rights away from another group other than the one to which they belong they use expressions that clearly define them as being “other”, such as “them” rather than “us”. This is clearly the case with “Just a dog” or “Just an animal”. However we are no longer a small tribe living in a limitless world.  We can no longer survive by treating people from another country as “other”, nor can we treat our fellow animals as “other”. It is one small lonely planet and all of us animals are in this together.
